  • Yesterday I went on a trip down memory lane and looked through all of my random papers from the past. Elementary report cards, school photos, and letters from family members as I was away in the Philippines basically all alone at the age of nine.

What a blast from the past, but it also really made me feel a bit sad. In letters people always write so many things with intentions of what they would like to happen in the future, but very little of that may ever take shape or form. It made me remember how homesick I felt to be in such an alien land with no one that I knew from my previous life in Canada. I spent 6 months there with family I never met before with the purpose of attaining a life experience of some sort. In truth I did see and learn many things that Canadian children would probably never get a chance to even imagine. But it was sad to be alone.

Also, looking at my class photos and thinking to the present time. I actually have very little to do with any of the friends that I once had long ago. Many of them are now complete strangers to me.

  • Thinking about quitting the gym and lifting at home. It’s a total waste of money, considering 90% of the equipment at Gold’s Gym are machines. The only machine of any sort that I have used there would have to be the treadmill and I’ve only used it in instances where my Olympic platform or squat racks are occupied. The only thing I need is a 7′ long barbell and six or eight 45 lb plates.

+$42.00 of my money to be wasted in some other method.

  • Thinking about quitting the gym and lifting at home. That would mean that $42.00 could go to something else every month, maybe more weights.

Really, for $42.00 I am practically giving my money away to Gold’s Gym considering I only go once or maybe twice a week. Plus I haven’t even touched any of the useless machines that the chrome and fern crowd usually frequent. I’m strictly a barbell man. If anything, I have used the treadmill on occasions simply because all of the lifting platforms and squat racks were already occupied.

The only thing I like about going to the gym is the atmosphere. Other than that, it is excessive.

  • So,

Earlier this week at work, my finger apparently caught a micro splinter and I didn’t notice it until the day after when it swelled up like a balloon and got infected.

Had to drain the thing and perform self surgery to remove the little black splinter made of who knows what.

Finally today the swelling as subsided, but my little finger still insists on producing green ooze.

Tomorrow I want to go to the gym and perform my favorite exercise, the deadlift.

It would be awesome if while holding the barbell with over 400 pounds on it, in midair my finger just explodes green goop all over the olympic platform.

    Freaking sweet.

  • Still waiting for my red seal papers and card. Then I will have to wait a year until I can take my Field Safety Representative (FSR) and be allowed to take out electrical permits.

I want to make more moneys, but there aren’t enough moneys around to be made.

Haven’t got around to tiling the shower, yet.

Yesterday I went to a steam room and ate broccoli cooked off my lap.

    Sometimes I lie.

Did my first real “side job” on the weekend. Need to find more people who need electricity.

Tonight I made curry. I did not eat as of yet.

Going to Mexico on Sunday for 8 days, 7 nights.

I need to buy a new pair of flippers and I would also like some KSO’s.

12 days ago since I last set foot in Gold’s Gym. Squats have been neglected.

When dead lifting 225 lbs I can go really, really fast for over 20 consecutive repetitions before my stamina sputters out.

I spent the day crawling around in an attic.

Mice left little bite marks all over the insulation of a 2/14 AWG loomex wire.

I saw the movie Drive about a month ago and loved it. I read the reviews afterwards to find that it has been either a hit or miss for most viewers. It reminded me of Taxi Driver with Robert Deniro.

    Today is Wednesday.

I am Matthew. King of the Potato People.
