Right now, I'm quite happy as today I went to the gym and did barbell cleans. Half way though my work out, a sinewy old European man came up to me and taught me how to lift properly. I think that I was doing power cleans which uses more arms with bad form, while he was teaching me more of an Olympic style of clean. He claimed to be a coach at SFU and was very supportive when teaching me form. Every move I made after his example, he kept saying that it's okay, I'm doing good, and I'm a strong guy, but if I get form down first I can lift even more. He said no one else does these kinds of lifts in this gym except for me and sometimes him.
Very rarely do I get advice in the gym and even more rarely do I ever get good advice that is from someone nice, encouraging, and knows what they're preaching. One day I want to be knowledgeable enough to help others. It must be a really nice feeling to simply help people that are willing to learn and soak up the information.
