  • I like to build things. I love it. Once I jump on a project I keep on trucking and pushing all the way until it’s complete and perfect. My last project was a to make a medicine ball by filling a basketball with sand. Sounds easy, but it took me 3 hours to fill the ball with a tiny funnel. After filling I patched all of the holes with a radial tire repair kit, shoe glued the whole thing, then gorilla taped the crap out of it. The ball was done, 30 lbs of DIY perfection. What else could I do to make improve it? I braided the thing in a net attached to a thick rope. Brilliant! I’ve been going to the middle of the park once a week just to do overhead slams. It’s a more public friendly alternative to chopping wood with an axe or swinging a sledge hammer, plus it’s heavier. There’s no such thing as a 30lb axe head or hammer head, unless it’s an archaic weapon of war.

Yes, this exercise makes me look completely insane swinging a giant ball in the middle of the park, but I love the feel of it. Plus it’s an awesome way to train lower back and a great alternative to dead lifts.

  • I would stay the hell away from you if I saw you with that murderous medicine ball! I don’t think I’d have the patience to fill a basketball with sand for 3 hrs. Then again, I was never into building things like you. I like….drawing though? Building images? :3 *holds up thin sheet of paper with anime drawing next to your 30lb med. ball*

  • That’s awesome.
